About the Instructor

Sensei Matt Fitzgerald 3rd Dan Black Belt.
Sensei matt started training in martial arts 28 years ago by doing a ten week course in Judo
with Mike Carroll, after the course he went on to join the Limerick Judo Club and stayed with this club for 3 years but following a shoulder injury had to give up Judo.

This is when Matt took up Karate with John Fitzgerald (no relation) of the Franciscan Karate club Limerick. After about three years this club closed up. Matt then moved on to Taekwondo out in L.I.T College with R.I.T.A but through lack of dedication from the two instructors at the time this club closed after two years.

At this time Matt was introduced to Mike o Brien 2nd Dan black belt who taught Wado-Ryu.
The name of this club was National Red Dragon Karate Association.
After Seven years in this club Matt received his first Dan black belt from Mike o Brien this was in the year 2000.

In 2004 Matt received his 2nd Dan Black Belt from Tom Hibbert 5th Dan A.M.A England, then in late 2005 matt got his 3rd Dan Black Belt from Greg Downes 4th Dan.

Sensei Matt has been teaching for 15 years and started the Twin Dragon Karate Association ten years ago, over the many years of his training Matt has trained with some of the best Instructors in martial arts and in many styles.
